Fisher Men Overmatched by Conference Leaders Walsh University
In the second game of the men's and women's doubleheader, Walsh University men's team handled the Fisher Falcons comfortably by a score of 15 – 0.
This was the second meeting on the season between the American Mideast Conference rivals with Walsh winning the first match 10 -0 late September in North Canton, Ohio.
George Moga opened the scoring for Walsh by beating Falcons keeper John Del Valle (Stoughton, MA) to his near post. Del Valle had started the match of strong, stopping the first four shots he faced. The undermanned Falcons were no match for the speed and offensive abilities of the Walsh attackers as the Falcons conceded eight first half goals, two of which were own goals.
Walsh forward Ben Traux led the Cavaliers with three goals and two assists on the afternoon. Nate Milhoan also had a multi-goal effort, notching a goal in either half on five shots.
Falcons' keeper Del Valle had 19 saves on the afternoon as he continues to lead the nation in saves per game with 14.8 and total saves with 163. With the loss, the Falcons fall to 0 – 11 on the season while Walsh improves to 12-1.
The Falcons return to the field Wednesday night as they take on former Sunrise Conference rival St. Joseph's (VT) in East Boston. The non-conference match is scheduled for a 7pm kick off.
