North Point's Fowler commits to Fisher College

(Boston, MA) It was announced today by Fisher College Head Baseball Coach Scott Dulin that North Point High School senior Alex Fowler has signed his letter of intent to play for the Falcons.

"I am very excited that I will be moving on to the next level." said Fowler. "I believe that I still have room for progress and improve my game. I am looking forward to pitching against better athletes and better teams."

The right handed Fowler had a tremendous senior season for North Point. He went a solid 6-2 on the mound with a 2.45 earned run average (ERA). Fowler also struck out 34 batters over his 11 appearances for the Eagles.

"Alex is the type of character that I've been looking for." said Dulin. "I really like his willingness to work hard and be able to contribute right away for us. He reminds me of KMike (recent graduate Kevin Michael '11). Just a hard-nosed gamer who will be a bulldog for us on the mound."

In his two seasons on the varsity team at North Point, Fowler put together good numbers. He tossed 85 innings compiling an 11-4 record with a 2.63 ERA and 4 complete games.

Fisher College established their Athletic Department in 2001. Fisher is a proud member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and play in the American Mideast Conference.  Since the inception of the department, the Fisher Baseball team has captured seven Conference Championships and made appearances in the post-season every year since 2005. The program has produced talent year in and year out as it has seen some student-athletes win national awards along with signing professional contracts and being selected in the MLB draft.

The proud son of Bill and Stacey Fowler of Bel Alton, MD and brother to Sarah, Alex will have the opportunity to earn a spot in the starting rotation for Fisher.
