Women's Volleyball: Falcons sweep Curry

MILTON, MASS. - The Fisher College Women's Volleyball team earned a win this evening over Curry College, 3-0 in the Katz Gymnasium with scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-11 . The victory sends the Falcons to 2-1 for an overall record. Curry slides to 0-3.

Senior Alicia Tkach (Middleton, Mass.) led the offensive effort for the Falcons with 10 kills and 7 digs. Junior Caroline Saucier (Sarasota, Fla.) added 9 kills.Freshman Natalia Ramirez (Tao Alta, Puerto Rico) led the falcons defensively gathering 9 digs, 6 serve ace points, and 2 blocks while sophomore Sophia Campos (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) collected 8 digs. Freshman Alondra Farinacci (Ponce, Puerto Rico) also chipped in with 10 assists in the win for Fisher.

Curry was paced by Sophomore Kyah Earls (San Francisco, Calif.) with 9 kills and 2 serve ace points while Senior Jess Sullivan (Meredith, N.H.) provided help with 5 kills herself. Sophomore Emma St. Cry (Dover, N.H.) chipped in with 11 assists and 2 serve ace points. Junior Sonja Matheson (Voluntown, Conn.) contributed with 8 digs as sophomore Phoebe Savas (Framingham, Mass.) led Curry defensively with 9 digs over the three sets.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court later this week. Fisher will be traveling to Bay Path University on Saturday for a match. Curry will be traveling to Southern Maine to play the Huskies on Saturday with a 12pm start time.
