GWINNETT, GA. – The Continental Athletic Conference announced earlier today that Fisher College junior Macy Barnes (Duart, Calif.) and freshman Paola Velazquez (Caguas, Puerto Rico) have been named the conference's Volleyball Attacker and Volleyball Setter of the Week.

For the second consecutive week, Barnes was awarded the CAC Volleyball Attacker of the Week after leading the Fisher Women's Volleyball team to a perfect 3-0 week. The outside hitter totaled 48 kills across 12 sets to average 4.0 kills per set. She also hammered down 18 kills while collecting 26 digs in a five-set win over Nichols College last Thursday. Barnes followed that performance with 15 kills and 20 digs in a four-set win over Curry College before closing out her impressive week by adding 15 kills in a sweep against Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Barnes had a .271 hitting percentage for the week.

Velazquez earned her first conference weekly honor of her career after directing the Falcon offense as the team's primary setter. The rookie dished out 7.25 assists per set over the team's perfect three win week. Velazquez totaled 87 assists over her 12 sets played, including back-to-back 30+ assist performances. In the 3-2 win over Nichols, she handed out 31 assists and then dished out 33 assists in the team's 3-1 win over Curry College. The Puerto Rico native capped the week with 23 assists in the three-set victory against Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

Barnes, Velazquez and the rest of the Women's Volleyball program will be back in action this week as they host Dean College on Wednesday evening. Game time is set for 7pm inside the Pappas Gymnasium at Hellenic College.
