Falcons swept by Walsh University to begin conference play

Lynn, MA -- The Lady Falcons went 0-4 against Walsh University this weekend to begin American Mideast Conference play.

To begin game 1 on Saturday Walsh scored 5 runs in the opening inning. Kaleigh Gilbert was the only Falcon to get a hit during the game, singling to right field in the bottom of the second inning. Walsh pitcher Kelsey Ford would not give up another hit for the remainder of the game. Walsh would continue scoring. Hanna Dodson hit two homeruns, one of which was a grand slam. The Falcons would lose to Walsh 29-0 in Game 1.

Walsh also won game two 29-0 with Dodson hitting another homerun while Kaleigh Cupka of Walsh also hit one out of the park. Fisher was not able to make significant contact with the ball during the game to get on base.

The series continued on Sunday between Fisher and Walsh in Game three. Walsh took a commanding lead in the first inning scoring 15 runs. Michelle Fabiano would record Fisher's only hit in the bottom of the 4th with a hit up the middle dropping right before the centerfielder could scoop it up for a single. Walsh went on to win the game 27-0.

In Game four Fisher was able to hold Walsh to one run in the first inning. Walsh then went on to score 9 runs in the top of the second and only one more run in the third before being held scoreless in the last two innings. Fisher was still unable to get on the board and recorded no hits for the game. Walsh swept the Falcons for the weekend.

The Falcons will return to action April 4th when they play a double header at Fitchburg State University starting at 3:30.
