Lynn, MA – Fisher started the bottom of the first inning off with a bunt by left fielder Amanda Colon. After reaching first base, she was immediately followed by a double by Porsha Grayson. With two outs and two strikes, Debbie Fuller doubled up the middle bringing in both Colon and Grayson for a 2-0 lead. The lead did not last long as Canton came back in the top of the second to score 7 runs.
Fisher made a strong attempt to come back in the bottom of the second scoring 2 more runs. To start the inning Kaleigh Gilbert hit a deep double to left field and then advanced to third on a stolen base. Colon and Grayson were walked. With the bases loaded Demi Bourous hit a double to left field and both Gilbert and Colon scored before the inning ended.
That is as close as the score would get as SUNY promptly responded scoring 8 runs in the third. Two SUNY Canton players, Heather Lottie and Emiley Walters, hit homeruns. SUNY beat Fisher 20-4.
The two teams will meet today at 2:00 for a double header.
