Lady Falcons Drop Home Opener to Bates College

Lynn, MA—Fisher College Softball (0-13) opened up their first weekend at home with a double header against Bates College (3-4).

The first inning of the first game looked pretty promising for the Lady Falcons. Pitcher Brittany Calderon only gave up one hit and they were able to hold off Bates. In the bottom of the first Andrea Martucci's single was enough to drive Porsha Grayson in for the tying run. That is as close as the game would be as Bates would respond in the second inning scoring 11 runs. Fisher was unable to comeback effectively and Bates topped them in the first game 21-3 ending the game with a triple play.

The Second game Bates College (4-4) started by scoring 6 runs in the first 2 innings. Fisher (0-14) did not score until the 4th inning and it was not enough to help pitcher Kaleigh Gilbert record her first win. Fisher totaled 9 errors for the game falling to Bates 16-3. The Lady Falcons record fell to 0-14.
