Rindge, N.H. – Chris Cantu escaped a bases-loaded jam in the ninth inning to earn his third save of the season, sending the Fisher College Falcons to their eighth win of the season in a 11-9 non-conference tilt with Rivier University. The win marks the second win in as many days versus the Raiders after Fisher's 12-6 win on Wednesday night.
After surrounding an unearned run in the top of the first inning, Devin Perry got the Falcons on the board with a two-run home run to left center field. In junior went deep again in his second at bat, in a two home run, 2-for-4, day.
Senior Dom Zahar added a third home run for the Falcons in the sixth inning as the Falcons managed to score runs in four different innings. Zaher was 2-for-5 on the night, with three RBIs and three runs scored.
Junior Brian Rosa earned his first win of the season on the mound for the Falcons. Rosa went six innings and allowed four runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks. The right-hander also recorded eight strikeouts.
The Falcons (8-10) return to action tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Long Island, N.Y. to square off against future conference rivals Briarcliff College. The first pitch of the scheduled doubleheader is set for noon.
