Machias, Maine – The Fisher College Falcons took a quick lead against the University of Maine at Machias on Monday afternoon.  The Falcons were victorious with a 4-3 win over the Clippers to bring them to 5-6-2 overall on the season.

Junior midfielder Holly Lesperance opened the scoring for the Falcons in the 7th minute of the game to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead over Machias.  Lesperance struck again in the 42nd minute to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead in the first half.  Moments later, the Clippers were able to cut Fishers' lead to 1 when they were able to put a mark on the board.  Heading into the break, the Falcons were up 2-1 over the Clippers.

Machias came out of the break with a vengeance and tied the game a 2-2 in the 66th minute of the game.  Amanda Santiago didn't let the Clippers hold the tie for long as she sent a laser into the net on a pass from Lesperance to take a 3-2 lead.

The Clippers again knotted the game, this time at 3-3 about three minutes after Santiago's goal.  Minutes later, Santiago again gave the Falcons a lead of 4-3 in the 79th minute.  The last 10-minutes of the game quickly expired giving the Falcons their 5th victory of the season.
