Machias, Maine – The Fisher College women's basketball team hands the University of Maine at Machias their first loss as the Falcons improve to 2-0 on the season. Machias drops to 3-1 after the 78-44 loss to the Falcons.
The first quarter, Fisher dominated the Clippers outscoring them 23-7. After a quick one-minute break, Fisher continued to put the pressure on the Clippers to take a 42-16 lead heading into the half.
UMM ignited some drive during the break and scored 28 points to Fishers 36 points in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Regulation time expired with the Falcons earning a 78-44 victory.
Murphy Carroll paced the way for the Falcons offensively with 25 points and 2 rebounds, while twin sister Madison Carroll helped the Falcons with 24 points and 3 rebounds. Choon-Hee Chae (16 points, 7 assists), Jocelyn Mendoza (10 rebounds), and Tiana Bowser (11 rebounds) were also key Falcons in the victory.
The Falcons have a few days off before heading to Delhi, New York to take on Villa Maria on Saturday afternoon (2:00 p.m.) and SUNY Delhi on Sunday afternoon (12:00 p.m.).
