Seahawks dominate Falcons, 88-48

Lynn, Mass. -- The Fisher College women's basketball team drops to 3-6 on the season as they dropped an NCAA-NAIA cross match-up to Salve Regina University 88-43.  Salve Regina improves to 2-7 on the season.

The Falcons won the tip-to start off the game, but the Seahawks scored the first bucket of the game to go up 3-0 over the Falcons.  Torie Scorpio hit four more points to give Salve a 7-0 lead over the Falcons.  Freshman Skylar Robinson put Fisher on the board netting a shot from behind the arc, 11-3.  

After a 12-7 Salve lead, the Falcons went on a 5-0 run to knot the game at 12-12.  The Seahawks finished the quarter with a 8-0 run to hold a 20-12 lead over the Falcons.

The Falcons decreased the Seahawks lead to three on an 10-5 run including a Chrissy Briggs made jumper.  Salve then went on a 10-3 run which was led by Mary Eden with five points.  At the close of the quarter, the Seahawks held a 10-point lead over the Falcons, 39-29.

The last two quarters were dominated by Salve as they outscored the Falcons 49-19 to secure the 88-48 victory for the Seahawks.  

Aliyanah McIntosh steared the path for the Falcons scoring a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.  Twins Murphy Carroll and Madison Carroll were also key players for the Falcons scoring 10 points and 9 points respctively.

Kerri Beland led all scorers scoring 25 points for the Seahawks while grabbing 3 boards.  Allyson Esielionis and Torie Scorpio were other top scorers for Salve with 16 points and 15 points respectively.

The Falcons return to action tomorrow when they head over to the Fenway area to take on Wheelock College in the Lubin-O'Donnell Center at the Winsor School for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.  Salve Regina will not hit the court again until December 30, when they play host to Smith College for a 4:00 p.m. tip-off.
